Punjab College Lahore Rape incident: Police arrested the vloger
The accused Sara Khan will be presented before the JIT to record her statement.
Lahore police has arrested the woman from Karachi who spread the news of rape of a first-year student in Punjab college Lahore.
Gulberg police station has registered the case against the accused under PICA Act. Police say that the detained accused has been transferred from Karachi to Lahore where the investigation is ongoing.
In the initial statement, the accused says that she made a video and uploaded it to get views on social media.
On behalf of the police, the accused Sara Khan will be presented before the JIT to record her statement.
Police say that the number of cases registered for spreading unconfirmed news has increased to 4. It should be noted that the students protested against Punjab college in major cities and police failed to stop them.
Governor Punjab expresses concern over Punjab College Lahore incident
Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan has expressed deep concern over the incident of alleged rape of a female student in Punjab College.
The Governor has directed the Secretary Higher Education Department to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report.
He said that the accused involved in this heinous act should be punished. Meanwhile, the spokesperson of Lahore Police says that the police has obtained all the CCTV footage of the college basement at the place of the alleged incident which is being checked.
Maryam Nawaz forms a committee to investigate Punjab College Lahore incident
In the case of rape of a female student in Punjab College, Lahore, Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has formed a 7-member committee to investigate the incident.
Chief Secretary Punjab appoints the convener of the investigation committee, the investigation committee will conduct a thorough investigation of the incident.
The investigation committee will submit its report to the Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif within 48 hours.
